At this point, God declared that the descendents of the "evil fallen angels" known as the giants were to be destroyed. These giant kings were to be killed and the gold that they possessed was to be brought out of the city and put into the tabernacle.

Josh. 6:4   with seven priests bearing seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark. On the seventh day you shall march around the city seven times, the priests blowing the trumpets. 

Josh. 6:6   So Joshua son of Nun summoned the priests and said to them, "Take up the ark of the covenant, and have seven priests carry seven trumpets of rams' horns in front of the ark of the Lord." 

Josh. 6:7   To the people he said, "Go forward and march around the city; have the armed men pass on before the ark of the Lord." 

Josh. 6:8   As Joshua had commanded the people, the seven priests carrying the seven trumpets of rams' horns before the Lord went forward, blowing the trumpets, with the ark of the covenant of the Lord following them. 

Josh. 6:9   And the armed men went before the priests who blew the trumpets; the rear guard came after the ark, while the trumpets blew continually. 

Josh. 6:11   So the ark of the Lord went around the city, circling it once; and they came into the camp, and spent the night in the camp. 

Josh. 6:12   Then Joshua rose early in the morning, and the priests took up the ark of the Lord. 

Josh. 6:13   The seven priests carrying the seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the Lord passed on, blowing the trumpets continually. The armed men went before them, and the rear guard came after the ark of the Lord, while the trumpets blew continually. 

Josh. 7:6   Then Joshua tore his clothes, and fell to the ground on his face before the ark of the Lord until the evening, he and the elders of Israel; and they put dust on their heads. 

Josh. 8:33   All Israel, alien as well as citizen, with their elders and officers and their judges, stood on opposite sides of the ark in front of the levitical priests who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord, half of them in front of Mount Gerizim and half of them in front of Mount Ebal, as Moses the servant of the Lord had commanded at the first, that they should bless the people of Israel. 

1Sam. 4:3   When the troops came to the camp, the elders of Israel said, "Why has the Lord put us to rout today before the Philistines? Let us bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord here from Shiloh, so that he may come among us and save us from the power of our enemies."

1Sam. 4:4   So the people sent to Shiloh, and brought from there the ark of the covenant of the Lord of hosts, who is enthroned on the cherubim. The two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God. 

1Sam. 4:5   When the ark of the covenant of the Lord came into the camp, all Israel gave a mighty shout, so that the earth resounded. 

1Sam. 4:6   When the Philistines heard the noise of the shouting, they said, "What does this great shouting in the camp of the Hebrews mean?" When they learned that the ark of the Lord had come to the camp, 

1Sam. 4:11   The ark of God was captured; and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, died. 

1Sam. 4:13   When he arrived, Eli was sitting upon his seat by the road watching, for his heart trembled for the ark of God. When the man came into the city and told the news, all the city cried out. 

1Sam. 4:17   The messenger replied, "Israel has fled before the Philistines, and there has also been a great slaughter among the troops; your two sons also, Hophni and Phinehas, are dead, and the ark of God has been captured." 

1Sam. 4:18   When he mentioned the ark of God, Eli fell over backward from his seat by the side of the gate; and his neck was broken and he died, for he was an old man, and heavy. He had judged Israel forty years. 

1Sam. 4:19   Now his daughter-in-law, the wife of Phinehas, was pregnant, about to give birth. When she heard the news that the ark of God was captured, and that her father-in-law and her husband were dead, she bowed and gave birth; for her labor pains overwhelmed her. 

1Sam. 4:21   She named the child Ichabod, meaning, "The glory has departed from Israel," because the ark of God had been captured and because of her father-in-law and her husband. 

1Sam. 4:22   She said, "The glory has departed from Israel, for the ark of God has been captured." 

1Sam. 5:1   When the Philistines captured the ark of God, they brought it from Ebenezer to Ashdod . . .

1Sam. 5:2   then the Philistines took the ark of God and brought it into the house of Dagon and placed it beside Dagon. 

1Sam. 5:3   When the people of Ashdod rose early the next day, there was Dagon, fallen on his face to the ground before the ark of the Lord. So they took Dagon and put him back in his place. 

1Sam. 5:4   But when they rose early on the next morning, Dagon had fallen on his face to the ground before the ark of the Lord, and the head of Dagon and both his hands were lying cut off upon the threshold; only the trunk of Dagon was left to him. 

1Sam. 5:7   And when the inhabitants of Ashdod saw how things were, they said, "The ark of the God of Israel must not remain with us; for his hand is heavy on us and on our god Dagon." 

1Sam. 5:8   So they sent and gathered together all the lords of the Philistines, and said, "What shall we do with the ark of the God of Israel?" The inhabitants of Gath replied, "Let the ark of God be moved on to us." So they moved the ark of the God of Israel to Gath. 

1Sam. 5:10   So they sent the ark of the God of Israel to Ekron. But when the ark of God came to Ekron, the people of Ekron cried out, "Why have they brought around to us the ark of the God of Israel to kill us and our people?" 

1Sam. 5:11   They sent therefore and gathered together all the lords of the Philistines, and said, "Send away the ark of the God of Israel, and let it return to its own place, that it may not kill us and our people." For there was a deathly panic throughout the whole city. The hand of God was very heavy there . . .

1Sam. 6:1   The ark of the Lord was in the country of the Philistines seven months. 

1Sam. 6:2   Then the Philistines called for the priests and the diviners and said, "What shall we do with the ark of the Lord? Tell us what we should send with it to its place." 

1Sam. 6:3   They said, "If you send away the ark of the God of Israel, do not send it empty, but by all means return him a guilt offering. Then you will be healed and will be ransomed; will not his hand then turn from you?" 

1Sam. 6:8   Take the ark of the Lord and place it on the cart, and put in a box at its side the figures of gold, which you are returning to him as a guilt offering. Then send it off, and let it go its way. 

1Sam. 6:11   They put the ark of the Lord on the cart, and the box with the gold mice and the images of their tumors. 

1Sam. 6:13   Now the people of Beth-shemesh were reaping their wheat harvest in the valley. When they looked up and saw the ark, they went with rejoicing to meet it. 

1Sam. 6:15   The Levites took down the ark of the Lord and the box that was beside it, in which were the gold objects, and set them upon the large stone. Then the people of Beth-shemesh offered burnt offerings and presented sacrifices on that day to the Lord. 

1Sam. 6:18   also the gold mice, according to the number of all the cities of the Philistines belonging to the five lords, both fortified cities and unwalled villages. The great stone, beside which they set down the ark of the Lord, is a witness to this day in the field of Joshua of Beth-shemesh. 

1Sam. 6:19   The descendants of Jeconiah did not rejoice with the people of Beth-shemesh when they greeted the ark of the Lord; and he killed seventy men of them. The people mourned because the Lord had made a great slaughter among the people. 

1Sam. 6:21   So they sent messengers to the inhabitants of Kiriath-jearim, saying, "The Philistines have returned the ark of the Lord. Come down and take it up to you." 

1Sam. 7:1   And the people of Kiriath-jearim came and took up the ark of the Lord, and brought it to the house of Abinadab on the hill. They consecrated his son, Eleazar, to have charge of the ark of the Lord. 

1Sam. 7:2   From the day that the ark was lodged at Kiriath jearim, a long time passed, some twenty years, and all the house of Israel lamented after the Lord. 

1Sam. 14:18   Saul said to Ahijah, "Bring the ark of God here." For at that time the ark of God went with the Israelites. 

2Sam. 6:2   David and all the people with him set out and went from Baale-judah, to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the name of the Lord of hosts who is enthroned on the cherubim. 

2Sam. 6:3   They carried the ark of God on a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill. Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, were driving the new cart

2Sam. 6:4   with the ark of God; and Ahio went in front of the ark. 

2Sam. 6:6   When they came to the threshing floor of Nacon, Uzzah reached out his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen shook it. 

2Sam. 6:7   The anger of the Lord was kindled against Uzzah; and God struck him there because he reached out his hand to the ark; and he died there beside the ark of God. 

2Sam. 6:9   David was afraid of the Lord that day; he said, "How can the ark of the Lord come into my care?" 

2Sam. 6:10   So David was unwilling to take the ark of the Lord into his care in the city of David; instead David took it to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite. 

2Sam. 6:11   The ark of the Lord remained in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite three months; and the Lord blessed Obed-edom and all his household. 

2Sam. 6:12   It was told King David, "The Lord has blessed the household of Obed-edom and all that belongs to him, because of the ark of God." So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-edom to the city of David with rejoicing.
